Brass Screw

In 2009, the Author’s House public organization established the Brass Screw Award for contributions to the festival rock movement. The award honors rock-festival organizers, producers, musicians, journalists covering festivals, radio stations, music publishers, business representatives, and others who help promising creative projects grow—as well as musicians who have achieved a breakthrough in performance and self-promotion.

Recipients are selected by the collegial council of the Author’s House public organization. The council includes prominent figures in rock music, journalists, producers, and representatives of well-known music labels. The award is presented once a year during the Rock-Line festival and includes a certificate accompanying the statuette.

Concept by Elena Zorina-Novosyolova.
Original sculpture by Aidar Akhatov.
Materials: brass, with a serpentine-stone base.
Statuette weight: 950 grams; height: 25 cm.

A propeller is a vital component that enables an aircraft to take off. Here it rests on a curved element symbolizing a bass clef. The bass clef represents music’s foundation, while a key symbolizes discovery. The base is made of serpentine, a decorative stone from the Urals.
